Objectives
The Animal Health Laboratory has the following objectives:
•Provide support to research, essentially to the Meat and Wool National Research Program in assessing the incidence of infections from parasites in the animals which participate in different animal production experiments and in implementing control measures.
•Conduct research on parasite problems in cattle and sheep.
•Apply and develop the most used techniques for diagnosis of parasites, as the McMaster Test for gastrointestinal nematodes, Sedimentation Test for Fasciola hepatica and Faecal Cultures.
•Make available a service in the diagnosis of Antihelmintic Resistance in cattle and sheep through research projects.
