Micorrización de portainjertos de manzano micropropagados. [Mycorrhization of micropropagated apple rootstocks.]

ABSTRACT. The anther culture response in Solanum commersonii (2n = 2x = 24, 1EBN) and S. chacoense (2n = 2x = 24, 2EBN), two wild potato germplasm resources was studied to obtain haploid plants. Three accessions from each of the two species and 3200 anthers from each genotype were cultured. Authors assessed different culture media; ascorbic acid, L?cysteine and silver nitrate (AgNO3) were included to prevent browning of anther cultures. Addition of AgNO3, was effective to induce embryogenesis. The clones from S. commersonii showed different embryogenic response to androgenesis.

Role of grapevine vegetative expression on Aspergillus spp. incidence and OTA accumulation in wines produced in a temperate humid climate.

ABSTRACT. Aspergillus spp. and Penicillium spp. are the main producers of ochratoxin A (OTA), a mycotoxin responsible for fatal human diseases. Some authorities have established a maximum of 2 μg/L of OTA in wine. Although the incidence and occurrence of OTA in grapes and wine is highly related to climate conditions, as has been extensively documented, there is no conclusive information on the effects of cultivation systems on the presence of OTA.

Compositional changes on colored and light-yellow-fleshed potatoes subjected to two cooking processes. [Cambios en la composición de papas de pulpa coloreada y amarilla sujetas a dos procesos de cocción.]

ABSTRACT. Five potatoes varieties both raw and microwave (800 W, 8 min) and fried (180°C, 5 min) were evaluated. Colored-fleshed potatoes showed between 2- and 2.5-fold higher total polyphenols (TP, 2880.5?3241.6 mg GAE/kg DW) than the light-yellow. Chlorogenic acid was predominant. However, related to the others identified phenols, microwave and fried presented different phenolic profile. Vitamin C and total antioxidant capacity were also higher on colored ones with values in the range of 260.7?511.6 mg AA/kg DW and 344.1?527.8 mg GAE/kg DW respectively.

ABSTRACT. The aim of the experiment was to evaluate the reproductive performance of ewes synchronized with two doses of prostaglandin F2a (PG) at different intervals and inseminated at a fixed time. During the breeding season (April to June), 370 multiparous Corriedale ewes were assigned to five groups according to body condition score and body weight, and synchronized with two doses of PG administered 7, 10, 12, 14 or 16 days apart (groups PG7, PG10, PG12, PG14 or PG16; n ¼ 73, 76, 74, 72, 75; respectively).
