Monitoreo de terneros holando portadores de blad mediante curvas de disociación de alta resolución y secuenciación.
El objetivo de este trabajo fue realizar un monitoreo piloto de terneros Holando de Uruguay, para detectar portadores de CD18 D128G, mediante análisis HRM (High Resolution Melting) utilizando PCR tiempo en real y confirmación por secuenciación.

ABSTRACT: To study the effect of post-weaning feeding levels on the growth of dairy heifers, 40 animals with 77.7 ± 8.1 days of age and 77.5 ± 9.2kg of body weight were grouped in 10 pens, and each pen was randomly assigned to one of the following treatments for 120 days:feeding level to achieve a body weight gain of 600 (TMEDIUM) or 800 (THIGH) g/day based on a total mixed ration. After this period all heifers were managed as a single group for 150 days. Nutrient intake, behavior, body weight and other morphological measures were recorded in each animal.

Resumen. En marzo de 2017 se registró un episodio clínico de estrés calórico en un tambo de vacas Holando en el suroeste de Uruguay. Tras la ingesta de la ración matutina, 6 de 189 vacas lactantes manifestaron disnea, ortopnea y respiración con la boca abierta. Cinco vacas se recuperaron, una murió durante el episodio y otra había muerto la noche anterior. No se encontraron lesiones en el tracto respiratorio.

Estamos entrando en los meses fríos con menos reservas que las necesarias. Según estimaciones de Conaprole para la región Litoral Sur los tamberos cuentan con el 70% de las necesidades de forrajes conservados para pasar el invierno. Va a faltar fibra y podemos estimar dos meses de déficit de reservas. ¿Cómo llegamos a esta situación?
